Update received: June 6, 2011

Hello,
 
Just writing you with an update about Sampson. Yes, we changed his name from Nelson to Sampson and it suits him well, what with his big paws and all. He's made himself quite at home and we love him very much. I've attached a few pictures, we have a lot, but I feel we should take more :) Everywhere we go with him, he gets compliments. He's got a great disposition, he's calm, relaxed and incredibly friendly.
 
We took him with us on a road trip back to Michigan, I was surprised how well he traveled, mostly he just passed out in the back on the blanket, so that made the 16 hr drive that much better. Attached is a cute picture of him waiting for me in the

driver's seat while I got a coffee, looks like he's driving :) We also stopped and jumped into Lake Michigan, I think that was a little to cold for him, but he did enjoy digging in the sand.
 
Our apartment lacks air conditioning, but the Sampson came up with a solution to flip his water bowl periodically and the walk into it. If he's thought about that much, I can think of two reasons for it, one that he can soak his paws and possibly lay in the water, and two that it means his mom or dad will get him some fresh cool water. Also, I'm sure he finds it amusing that I have to clean it up.
 
He also puts himself to bed!
 
Anyways, I could rattle on for a while, but we love Sampson and he's part of our family. He makes the day that much better and he's my and our little buddy. Thank you very much for bringing us together.

 Ricky (formerly known as Arnie)

Update Received: June 25, 2011

Dear RMLR,
Arnie is now named Ricky and is a huge asset to the house.
He loves running around with his new siblings Lucie (Aussie mutt) and Kiwi (Chihuahua).
Ricky is still learning not to jump the fence in our backyard and run around the neighborhood but besides that is doing well with his training.
We all LOVE him very much. He is super friendly, and loves to put his paws on people's shoulders and stare into their eyes. Everyone eventually falls in love with him. He thinks that he is a lap dog and will sit in my lap. He came to us freaked out about everything, but is improving. We are so glad to have him!!!!!!

Update received: June 27, 2011

Just wanted to send you a quick note to say that Grizwald (formerly Roby) is doing very well.  We're slowly working on the separation anxiety, which is definitely getting better.  He is a very sweet and gentle guy that just wants to be best friends with everyone.  He's been great with our kids (who love him) and is best buddies with our other dog.  They hit it off immediately and spend most of their day playing together.  We feel like we really got lucky to end up with such a wonderful dog - he's been a very important addition to our family.

I included a few pictures.  He really looks quite a bit different now, as he had a whole new coat of healthy hair slowly grow in.
